I heard a talking head state that 95% of Irving Layton’s poems were awful. But, as he wrote an enormous number of poems that 5% amounted to quite a number. I think this applies to me also. I have written something in the order of 2,000 poems in the past eight years, maybe more. If only 5% of mine are any good that still amounts to 100 good poems or more.
Poetry is in the eye of the beholder, not the poet. But as a beholder and a poet I thought I would post a few of those 100.
