Plain Words: The Last Poem #50

it went off on its own

poems do that

they take flight

and swoop and dare

glinting in the sunlit air

dark when clouds glower and threaten

then suddenly laugh with joy unbidden, unhidden

the breezes take them where they will

these poems are free they have no cares

they do that in the heavens

and everywhere
