A snippet from The Man who fell from the Sky

There was a light fog and drizzle giving lights an eerie feel. The tornado subsided and left his mind. His body started to walk again but he was outside, floating in a quiet nothingness.  He could feel the small pinpoint wet drops on his face, his feet felt the pavement as they touched down in a solid rhythm. A light breezed ruffled his clothes and jacket. There were no thoughts. No stories, no plans, no poems, no memories of conversations, events, emotions. Just sensation.
